ROK Legend Review
Does the ROK Legend name ring true in a sea of e cig products?
The company is ROK Universal and my overall appreciation of their products is second to none. Their products seem to be pitched towards many different types of vaper, especially those in search of something with a little more kick – certainly true of the ROK Jet Black and the ROK Star that I’ve tried before.
All in all, therefore, I was delighted to receive a complementary trial sample of ROK’s latest offering – the ROK Legend. Let’s see how it stood up to my critical test!
In the box
If there is one thing you have to give full marks for it’s the sheer professionalism and appeal of ROK’s presentation box and packaging.
Attractively nestled inside that (Legend starter kit) box are:
• 1 900 mAh manual battery
• 1 Tankomisers, capacity 2.4ml of e-liquid;
• 1 mouthpiece covers;
• A simulated leather carrying case and cord;
• A USB charger.

Batteries
As mentioned, two batteries are included in the Legend starter kit.
The ROK Legend is an eGo design – all that means is that it uses the standard (and probably most popular) 510 thread and other 510 components, but also a much larger battery. I share a lot of other vapers’ opinion that the eGo makes for a rather superior design.
In the case of the ROK Legend, the batteries meet just that standard and – being cased in stainless steel – look both sleek and speak of a quality build.
I also liked the fact that the operating button is not only flush with the body of the battery but, when you press it, also has a circle of light indicating the state of charge of the battery – green when fully charged; yellow when 55% charged; and red when only 25% of its charge capacity remains.
It might not add a lot to the taste or flavour, of course, but at least you never need leave home with an imminently flat battery!
As far as useful storage and battery life is concerned, I found that the 650 mAh battery lasted for practically the entire day, whilst the 900 mAh kept on running for about a day and a half – not at all a bad performance.
One of the annoying things you might have encountered is the accidental switching on of your e-cig. The ROK Legend gets around this very common problem by letting you turn the whole thing off when you don’t need it.
Just press the button three times and it is completely isolated – to carry in your pocket without any accidental, battery-consuming turning on. I found this a very handy feature.
Of course, there came a time when the batteries could no longer take a charge. This was not too unpleasant a surprise, however, since I could buy replacement batteries for £12.99 or £13.99 (for the 650 mAh or 900 mAh respectively).
The Verdict: on the battery performance, therefore, was great – an apparently quality product.
Flavour/vapour
The ROK Legend comes with one clearomiser but no e-liquid. Or at least this was the case in the cheapest kit, they do have further options that include juice.
For the purposes of this trial I used my own e-liquid. I found that the cartridges have a perfectly acceptable capacity (2.4ml).
Even though you need to fill them yourself, unlike other mini e cigs we have reviewed, the cartridges are easy enough – just unscrew the mouthpiece and you can trickle the e-juice into the cartridge. After that, it’s just a question of waiting for the wicks to suck up the juice and you are ready to vape.

The result, of course, will depend on the particular e-liquid you choose to use, though the ROK Legend did a great job in terms of vapour volume.
The manufacturers recommend replacing your cartomisers after they have been refilled five times – though you might be able to get more out of them; I tried and was quite happy with the results after 12 refills, for example.
When you need to replace the tanks – when you are no longer getting the flavour you expect – replacements cost a reasonable £5.99 each.
Verdict: since the e-liquid is whatever you have bought separately, there is clearly no comparison with respect to flavour or taste. The vapour volume, however, proved entirely acceptable.

Conclusion
Although the ROK Legend created a very favourable impression and struck an overall image of professional design, looks and performance, I was left wondering why the starter kit included not one drop of e-liquid. This seems to be a surprising omission although not one that should deter you from buying this kit.
In terms of the e-cigarette’s overall performance, however, I have no difficulty in recommending it. Top marks all around.
