Green Smoke Arrives From the USA

Green Smoke have been one of the leaders in the US e cig market since 2008 providing a small but solid range of starter kits.

For the purposes of this review I purchased the Green Smoke Pro Starter Kit at £62.97, before discounts, this is one of only 3 starter kits available and the 2nd most expensive option.

Packaging

The presentation box is well designed and of a high quality/ Inside this kit you will find the following:

• 2 Batteries (One short & One Long)
• 1 USB E Cig
• USB & Wall Charger
• 10 Cartomisers
• 1 Metal Carry Case

Battery/Responsiveness

There are two batteries in the kit, one ‘small’ and one ‘long’ with the long obviously being the longer lasting of the two. The batteries themselves feel very solid, Green Smoke have gone for the ‘cig-a-like’ design with the raised rings on the body of the battery, great quality overall.

On taking a drag both batteries reacted instantly and helped provide a smooth vape. As for the length of time they were lasting…. I was getting around 4 hours vaping time from the large battery and 2 hours from the small battery. I tend to use the smaller battery when I am out but will have the long battery as back up as well. Size wise the smaller batery is bigger than SKYCIG but smaller than E-Lites.

One of the things that helps this kit stand out above the others is the inclusion of a USB e cig. This is basically an e cigarette with an attached wire/USB that plugs straight into my laptop. I can then vape away without the worry of my e cigarette running out of power. I also use this when my other batteries are charging so there is no need for missing out on vaping.

The only downside for me is the lack of a PCC (portable charging case). This isn’ a huge deal as the 2 batteries and USB cig were more than enough to keep me vaping throughout the day.

Overall - The batteries were quality and performed well. Would be nice to see a PCC but this isn’t essential with this particular kit and the inclusion of a USB e cig goes a little way to softening this blow.

Vapour/Flavour

The Pro Kit from Green Smoke comes with 10 cartomisers (2 packs of 10). There are 8 flavours (Absolute Tobacco, Red Label Tobacco, Tobacco Gold, Menthol, Vanilla, Mocha, Mountain Clove, Chocolate) and 5 nicotine strengths (0 mg, 0.6 mg, 1.2 mg, 1.8 mg and 2.4mg).

So a good choice and the option to go to nicotine free which I like..

I bought the Red Label, Menthol, Absolute and Chocolate to try. I found the tobacco flavours to be very good, definitely up there with the best I have tried. The Red Label and Absolute were pretty similar apart from a slightly more robust tobacco flavour coming through with the Red Label.

Both however had a nice smoothness to them, there was a touch of sweetness to them as well which I know some people don’t like but I personally didn’t even notice this after my first cartomiser.

The menthol was also a good version and one that I found myself using more as the weeks went on, definitely one I can see as an all day vape for me.

The Chocolate was a different story though, I just couldn’t get used to this. It wasn’t that it didn’t taste like chocolate, more that I just find it a little peculiar vaping the stuff! Definitely a personal preference and one which I’m sure chocolate lovers would probably disagree with.

The cartomisers (which are said to be ‘long life’ by Green Smoke) also lasted a good amount of time, I didn’t quite reach the 360 puffs stated on their website but I did get just over the 300 mark which again is decent.

Another thing that blows many other mini e cig brands out of the water is the vapour volume. I was getting tons of it with all the cartomisers I used so no issues on that front.

Prices of the cartomisers are a touch more than many competing brands coming in at £10.99, buying in bulk offers more of a discount and depending on how many you buy at once you could be looking at around £8.97 per pack of 5. Taking into consideration the quality of the flavours, vapour volume and length of time they last I would certainly say they are good value overall. Especially when E-Lites are selling a pack of 5 cartomisers for a sky high £19.99!

Overall - The tobacco flavours were very good for ‘out of the box’ cartomisers, some of the best I have tried and the vapour volume was also very good. My personal favourites were the Red Label and the Menthol, I didn’t however like the Chocolate flavour much!

Overall

Got to say, many of the mini e cig starter kits I have tried are hit and miss barring a few such as Jacvapour and V2 Cigs. Green Smoke however have definitely impressed with the quality of their product. Mainly being the flavours they have on offer. The Red Label tobacco and Menthol flavours were excellent and provided a nice smooth vape with tons of vapour volume.

The USB cigarette is a great addition to the kit, this allows you to vape directly via a USB power point. No waiting around for batteries to charge. One thing I would like to see is a portable charging case but this can be forgiven as everything else hits the mark.

Some may say this is very expensive and yes it is slightly more expensive than some competing brands but just keep in mind once the initial outlay is out of the way it will still be a lot cheaper than buying a 20 pack of cigs every day. This really is a great option for anyone new to e cigs or even for those that are looking for a new mini e cigarette brand.

One tip if you are buying. If you know someone that also wants to try electronic cigarettes then go for the ‘Love Birds’ kit.
